Reviews
1. Review by writer/producer Courtney Wood!:
The subject of illegal immigration has been making headlines and sparking heated debates over the past couple of years, so it's not surprising that a slew of movies would pop up on the topic. But "Not Here, Not There" takes a less traveled path, telling the stories of what happens to the immigrants once they have crossed the border and to the women they left behind. While the families are left in a perpetual state of waiting, the immigrants are left in a perpetual state of "homelessness"; trapped between a new place they don't know, and an old life they have changed too much to fit back into. The documentary does an excellent job of taking an unbiased approach and simply letting the story unfold. What flaws the film has in video resolution and sound quality in certain areas, are more than made up for by the likable characters and compelling story. Whatever your stance on the subject, "Not Here, Not There" is a fresh take on illegal immigration.
